Dr. Jeff Jorgensen, DVM
Doctor Jorgensen (Dr. J) was raised in Venezuela (oil field brat) and is fluent in Spanish. There were no high schools available for students at that time so boarding school was the only option. Having been born in Texas with some Texas family ties, San Marcos Academy was chosen. He went to Texas A&M for his college studies and obtained his veterinary degree from there in 1979.
Dr. Jorgensen owned a practice in the Rio Grande Valley for 10 years after graduating and refined his diagnostic and surgical skills by working alongside multiple visiting specialists who worked out of his office. He moved to San Marcos and started his practice in 1989 and has been in the area since. He is a major proponent of using his experience and diagnostic skills to help determine the best and most cost effective course in a pet’s treatment.
His two daughters both attended San Marcos High School, graduated from Texas State and are still active in the area. He plays competitive racquetball, bicycles daily and is an exercise fiend. His interests include restoring old homes and buildings and dallying in gourmet cooking.
Jeanette has been in the veterinary business for 20 years, having been with Dr. Jorgensen for 15 of them. She is the parent of a little girl, 2 huskies, and several cats, and loves her job at ACC.
Hallie has worked at Animal Care Center since 2007. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture-Animal Science from Texas State University in 2010. She has experience with large animals as well as small and is a lover of both types. She currently has one cat, Batman, but plenty of others (a dog, rabbit, cats) at her parent’s home in South Texas. Aside from being an animal lover, she also is George Strait’s biggest fan.
Lisa has been employed at ACC since 2008. She has worked in the veterinary field since the late 90’s in emergency medicine, pet and bird hospital, and small animal practices. She is also currently in school working on being a registered technician, which she will obtain by summer 2011 and will continue furthering her education in veterinary medicine. Lisa has participated in many foster care programs in helping animals find them forever homes as well as several feline rescue organizations. Lisa currently has 2 cats, 1 dog and several fish tanks in her family and looks forward to adding more members in the future.
Teresa is a licensed veterinary technician with over 20 years of experience in the field. She is the latest addition to ACC, arriving in San Marcos May of 2010 to join her husband. A military wife and animal lover, she has lived in numerous states and has acquired many strays (don’t ask how many). Her passion includes rescue and TNRM (trap, neuter, return and maintain) for cats.
